Artworks from Firestorm Foundation
The Firestorm foundation is partnering with SSE to promote and support knowledge creation and dissemination on the status and progress of female and non binary artists.
Firestorm Foundation is a non-profit initiative based in Stockholm, founded by Cristina Ljungberg in 2021. The Foundation is focused on highlighting women and nonbinary artists and fostering a more inclusive art world.
The operations involve acquiring works for an iconic collection of artistry. Key figures in modern and contemporary art, including Hilma af Klint, Tracey Emin, Yayoi Kusama, Louise Bourgeois, and Ulla Wiggen, are all represented in the collection of, to date, 200 works. With this as a base, collaborative efforts around research, publications, exhibitions, and artist conversations are established, with institutions such as Moderna Museet, Guggenheim, the Swedish Institute in Paris and the Stockholm School of Economics.
The Foundation is also supporting the increase the number of female artists represented in the SSE Art Collection.
