Gunnar is affiliated researcher at Collective Intelligence Labs (at the Center for HRM and Knowledge work), House of Governance and Public Policy and Center for Municipality Governance.
Gunnar has a background in leadership and management research at the Stockholm School of Economics. His research has focused on complexity and innovation and has lately written on how executive directors over time develop specific skills and capacities to lead complex organizations and how political leaders face complex challenges.
Gunnar has extensive experience of designing and running development programs for executives, board member and the chairman of the board, especially in the public sector and in “hybrid-organizations”, such as publicly owned corporations and large cooperative firms. He also has extensive experience in developing executive teams and regularly functions as an individual advisor and counselor to top executives.
His expertise includes the psychology and process of on-the-job learning of individual executives, governance and control structures, change and change leadership, and ways to develop collective intelligence in management teams and boards
