Elena Sinico visiting CRL December 2024 to May 2025
I am visiting Stockholm School of Economics as a PhD student from December 2024 to May 2025. I am a PhD researcher at the Department of Management of the University of Bologna. My PhD course is Public Governance Management and Policy, aiming to deepen the management of organizations involved in designing, delivering, and monitoring public services.
I am currently conducting research using a feminist lens to uncover how the patriarchal system is embedded in access to integration services and the labor market for refugees and asylum seekers. By combining Acker's Theory of Gendered Organizations and Bourdieu's Theory of Practice, I analyze how inter-organizational networks, designed to promote the integration of migrants, both reflect and reinforce patriarchal power structures, leading to gendered disparities in labor market access.
During my visiting experience at SSE, I had the opportunity to engage in insightful discussions with scholars who share my interest in migration phenomena and migrant integration pathways. These exchanges allowed me to improve my research and deepen diverse theoretical perspectives.
