Becker, Torbjörn
Director of the InstituteTorbjörn Becker has been the Director of the Stockholm Institute of Transition Economics (SITE) at the Stockholm School of Economics since 2006. A leading expert in international macroeconomics, economic crises, and transition economies, he previously spent nine years at the International Monetary Fund (IMF). His research focuses on macroeconomic policy, fiscal management, and financial markets, with a particular emphasis on Russia and Eastern Europe. Becker is a frequent commentator in international media and serves on the boards of several research institutes in Eastern Europe, including the Kyiv School of Economics. He holds a Ph.D. from the Stockholm School of Economics.
