The Initiative on the Future of Work

As workplaces evolve with the rise of generative AI and hybrid work models, the relationship between humans and machines is redefining how we collaborate, innovate, and lead.

Vision

The Initiative on the Future of Work envisions a world where organizations successfully navigate the evolving relationship between humans, technology, and workspaces. As digital connectivity reshapes professional interactions and hybrid work becomes the norm, we aim to understand and shape how purpose, innovation, and space are redefined in work increasingly driven by human-machine interactions.

By placing the human-machine interface at the center of our research, we explore how organizations can lead from the point of exchange between workers and technology—rethinking collaboration, leadership, and identity in the modern workplace.

Purpose

Our initiative seeks to generate insights into how work is evolving in response to technological change, shifting workplace dynamics, and new leadership challenges. Our research operates at the intersection of technology, work, and leadership, structured around three key perspectives:

  1. Purpose: Redefining Organizational Purpose Amidst Human-Machine Collaboration
  2. Innovation: Human-Machine Co-Creation
  3. Space: The New Workplace as a Hybrid Ecosystem

Through collaborations with industry leaders and researchers, the Initiative on the Future of Work aims to inform organizational strategies for hybrid work, leadership, and technological integration, provide evidence-based insights into how digitalization affects professional roles, innovation processes, and workplace structures, and support decision-makers in designing work environments that foster collaboration, engagement, and long-term sustainability.
